A Destination Wedding That Never Left Home: Andrew and Marie

When you think of a destination wedding, you normally think palm trees and beaches but Andrew and Marie’s wedding was a destination wedding that never left home. We knew early on that this wedding would be a unique as the couple themselves.
Andrew and Marie were layed back and laughing all day; it didn’t feel like we were shooting photos for their wedding, but merely hanging out with friends all day! Andrew and Marie’s wedding was held at Marie’s parents’ water front home in Amherstberg, Ontario. Almost all the wedding guests were from out of town, and you would think that because a lot of people didn’t know one another, it would be a fairly quiet setting. But, upon entering the white gates leading to the back yard (where the wedding reception was held) it felt like a reunion of life long friends. Guests were mixing, mingling and taking in the stunning backdrop as they watched the sailboats pass by. Every wedding detail was thought out carefully, from the white paper lanterns hanging in the reception tent, to the candy buffet, and even fireworks just after sunset. The night ended with everyone tearing up the dance floor, thanks to The Madd Hatters, the incredible band that blew the roof off!
