Priscilla of Boston recently opened a salon in San Jose at Santana Row, and it’s outfitted with some pretty cool technology that I think will make finding the perfect dress so much easier.
The bi-level salon’s dressing rooms are outfitted with four customized HP TouchSmart PCs that put the entirety of the POB group’s inventory (that’s over 250 gowns and 85 bridesmaid dresses, plus flower girl and mother of the bride dresses) at your fingertips. You can sort dresses by silhouette, neckline, price (wedding gowns range from $1,200 to $5,000), and collection (The POB group includes Priscilla of Boston, Melissa Sweet, Vineyard, Jewel, Reverie and Platinum), while bridesmaid dresses can also be viewed on screen in every available color. The computers also feature videos from the runway shows, so you can see each dress in action. Right now, the San Jose salon is the only West Coast location to feature the TouchSmart PCs (the other POB salons currently outfitted with the technology are Philadelphia, Denver, Houston, Scottsdale, and Boston).
