If you’ve been trying to figure out how to make a flower arrangement, you might be a little stumped. It’s one of those things that seems like it should be ridiculously easy, and yet when you try it you’re just unhappy with the results no matter what you do. So what is the right way to do this? How do you make a flower arrangement?
The first thing that you want to do is organize the flowers that you want to use by height. This is because it is much easier to put the taller flowers in the center and work your way out, simply because you’ll be able to see everything and it gives you a cone or pyramid shape. Once you have all the tall flowers in the center, work your way out trying to add flowers that take up more space on the outside. This will give your arrangement an overflowing effect that makes it look much bigger than actually is, and also adds some drama.
Of course, this is just how to make a flower arrangement if you like height, if you’re interested in making more of a colorful display, you go with a different order. Start off by organizing all your flowers by color, so that you make sure that the colors aren’t next to each other when you’re building the arrangement. It helps to put some of the brightest colors in the middle, simply to draw the person’s eye back towards to center of the bouquet. Once you know what is going to be the central focus of the arrangement, you can work your way out, randomly alternating colors as you go. Though it seems a difficult at first, once you’ve done two or three you won’t even have to think about it. Like all things, the more you do, the easier it will get.
